Polk County CARES for Seniors and the Disabled Assistance Program

The Polk County Board of County Commissioners has allocated $10 million for this program. Qualifying households will receive $2,000 to help with additional expenses incurred as a result of COVID-19. Only one application per household will be accepted. The application period for this program is now open.

While online applications are preferred, paper applications will also be accepted. To the greatest extent possible, Polk County recommends applying for assistance through its online electronic application, which uses an encryption process to help secure the information you submit. If you choose to submit a paper application for assistance, provide all supporting documents in a sealed envelope to assist in safeguarding your personal information.

For more specific information and instructions on how to apply, visit the Polk County COVID-19 Resource Page HERE.

    • Hi Lorraine,

I’m sorry you missed the window for the Polk County Cares program. I have added you to our email list, so if there is another assistance effort, you will be notified by email as well as our including the information on our website.

Although we are moving our location locally and are not in the new office yet, we do have volunteers monitoring voicemails at 863-220-7002 if you need any other assistance.

      Warm Regards,

      Joe Echols
