The Polk County Board of County Commissioners has allocated $10 million for this program. Qualifying households will receive $2,000 to help with additional expenses incurred as a result of COVID-19. Only one application per household will be accepted. The application period for this program is now closed (updated–see last paragraph). In the event more funds become available and this (or another) program is activated, we will provide needed information in another post.
UPDATE–Please note that the funds allocated to Polk County have been dispersed, and applications are no longer being taken through the Polk County website. Since applications that were previously submitted were through the Polk County website, not this website, the Rath Senior ConNEXTions Center does not have access to them, and cannot provide updates.
