Senior Scholars Program – Fall Classes
October 9 – November 17, 2023
Classes meet one time per week, each week, at the Rath Senior ConNEXTions Center’s new location @ College Heights United Methodist Church, 934 South Boulevard in Lakeland (conveniently situated between Lake Hollingsworth and Lake Morton). Experienced faculty members teach all classes. Enroll today for only $60 for each series of classes, with limited scholarships available: 863-220-7002.
- GENEALOGY: The wonders of your family roots with pathways to discovery! Mary Flekke, Master of Library Science / Mondays from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
- COMPUTER CHALLENGES: From beginning to intermediate. Learning to be connected! John Shuffleberger and Linda Higuera / Wednesdays from 10 am – 12 pm
- CONVERSATIONAL SPANISH: Cultural diversity. Learning to speak Spanish while enjoying the culture. Catalina Suarez / Thursdays from 2 pm – 4:00 pm
- 100 YEARS OF BROADWAY: Music, dance and NY drama. Explore the wonders of the Broadway Stage Floyd Love, Master of Theatre / Fridays from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Our SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) volunteer specialists offer confidential consultations to seniors, their families and caregivers seeking information about Medicare and other insurance options. Offered at no cost and by appointment only.

The mission of the Rath ConNEXTions Center, as a non-profit, free service, is to “provide seniors 50+ with education, resources, services, advocacy, and leadership, enabling them to age with independence and dignity” in Central Florida.
This mission is realized through Senior Scholars education programs, referrals to agencies providing assistance and resources, and support groups. Ongoing seminars and meetings provide current information and research related to healthcare, social services, housing, transportation, and mental health.
